Designer
Ezio Terragni was born in Bovisio Masciago (MB) in 1939. He graduated from the Art Applied to Industry High School at Castello Sforzesco, Milan and during his studies worked in the family furniture factory. And it was here, inspired by the unusual request of a customer, that he invented Servetto. He patented the system in 1968 and a few years later founded the company that takes the product’s name.
He received three awards for technological innovation from the Milan Chamber of Commerce; he was also Chairman of Consorzio Mobilieri Brianza Milanese and member of the Executive Board and Organising Committee of the Salone del Mobile in Milan. In 2002 he launched the ServettoCose line, a range of designer furnishing accessories that he developed with designers also from outside the company.
All of the products in the Servetto catalogue, from the pull-down lifts to the Motion-V opening system, originated in his head and from his pencil. Untiring researcher, lover of new and unexplored things, inveterate supporter of Made in Italy and quality, Ezio passed away on 8 February 2018 with his pencil in his hand.
He was born in Cantù, Italy in 1967. In 1990, he graduated with an Industrial Design degree from the European Institute of Design in Milan. He collaborated with various major design studios: first with Paola Nava and then with Paola Navone as a senior designer.
Together with Alessandro Elli, he designed several products including Emmemobili’s “Escher” coffee table, which was exhibited at the Milan Triennial international exhibition in 2004, as part of the Città Infinita (City of Infinity) exhibition.
He has collaborated with Servetto to design various plastic items for the SERVETTOCOSE. He also did a stint at the Cassina Research and Development Centre. Since 2011, he has been working as a product development manager and in-house designer at PORADA.
Alessandro Elli was born in Brianza, Italy in 1968. After graduating from the F.Melotti Art Institute, he attended Milan’s Polytechnic School of Design and obtained his Master's degree in Industrial Design. A long-term collaboration with Paola Navone allowed Elli to gain his first experiences in the design industry.
In 1999, he designed his first projects at Carlo Ballabio and shortly afterwards, began his primarily industrial product-focused professional career, whilst also taking on interior design projects for residential homes and small public spaces. Elli has collaborated with or is currently collaborating with the following companies: Axil, Bross, Di Liddo&Perego, Emmemobili, Giesse-tech, I Carraro, Linfa design, Marella design, Milanobedding, Nespoli-Consonni, Salcon imbottiti, Servetto, Pacini&Cappellini, Pamar, Ydf, Thrre.
In 2004, Emmemobili’s Escher product was exhibited at the Milan Triennial international exhibition and in 2005, the same product was showcased during the Città Infinita (City of Infinity) event at the CLAC (The Wood Furnishing Centre of Cantù). The Cubik collection that he designed for Di Liddo&Perego won MisuraEmme’s “Special Tiziana Mascheroni Award,” as part of the Yung & Design 2005 competition.
